The Job Role
The role involves an attractive mixture of both driving and the unloading of the trucks with face-to-face customer contact.
You will contribute to the profitability of the business through the delivery of ready mixed concrete.
You will be contracted to 40 hours per week, however additional hours may be required to meet the demands of the business including some Saturdays.
Responsibilities of Job Role
- Take instructions from your supervisor and undertake the tasks issued to you to the highest standard
- Ensure you always comply with all health, safety and welfare standards
- Ensure the company rules, policies and procedures are followed at all times
- Attend the workplace punctually and in a clean, tidy and professional manner
- Ensure that you are physically and mentally safe to drive and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Operate all vehicles in a safe and professional manner, ensuring all drivers hours, tachograph rules, highway code and speed limits are followed
- Conduct walkaround checks on all vehicles that you drive, ensuring any defects are reported to your supervisor and the transport manager
- Keep vehicles in a clean and tidy condition, inside and out
- Ensure all paperwork is returned in a legible format
- Download your driver card and ensure your driving licence, CPC qualification card and driver card is in date
- Wear the provided uniform and PPE as required
- Attend health and safety briefings, toolbox talks and any other training with a proactive attitude, taking on board the information given to you and applying it to demonstrate best practicesPlease note that this list is not exhaustive, and you may be asked from time to time to perform duties outside of your normal job role, as far as reasonably practicable
You Must
- Hold a UK Category C Licence
- Hold a current Driver Qualification Card and UK Digital Tachograph Card
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Be able to manage your time in line with UK tachograph regulations
- Be willing to work both independently and as part of a team
- Be able to follow instructions
- Keep any vehicles issued to you in a clean, tidy and presentable condition
- Have a proactive, hardworking and self-motivated attitude
- Have good time management
- Ensure you always present yourself in a clean, tidy and respectful manner
